In order to better communicate to you the ideas and thoughts that we hold dear,
"Important Things at an.Environment" will communicate the issues that an.Environment considers and its thoughts on its products from various perspectives.
This time, we are conducting a "user interview" in which we ask regular users about their thoughts and feelings on products and their lifestyles. For this episode of 【Story. 1】, we spoke with Ebiwara-san, who, due to the nature of his job, is careful about the effects on his skin.
-What prompted you to purchase it?
I first came across this organic washed denim when an acquaintance recommended it to me. As I was being recommended it, I learned that it was a product that focused on environmental and health issues, and I liked the color of the product, so I decided to buy it.
My first impression when I actually tried them on was that they were soft and comfortable to wear. I usually wear pants made of stretch material, so I imagined these 100% cotton denim pants to be stiff, but these pants have a "soft" feel so I can wear them just like the stretch material pants I normally wear. I also like the tapered silhouette, which is neither too wide nor too narrow .
-Do you have any favorite parts?
I like the silhouette and the concept. In particular, I think the concept of "washing without chemicals" is an idea that will definitely be necessary in the future. Recently, there has been an increase in environmentally friendly products, such as products made from recycled materials, but I think the challenge is how to make customers understand the background of the product before purchasing it, and how much they can empathize with the environmental issues that we want to solve through the product.
I think this can be said about many people in Japan, but I think the majority of people still see environmental issues as something that happens in a faraway country that has no connection to them, as something that doesn't concern them. "I understand the problem, but I don't know what to do, so I'll put it off."
However, this product's manufacturing process, which is "chemical-free, so it's gentle on the skin and environmentally friendly," makes it easy to imagine that it is contributing to environmental issues, and because it is directly connected to your own health, it gives you a sense of involvement, which I think is a great thing.
I also think that in recent years, the number of people with skin problems has increased. This can be due to physical issues in the living environment, but more recently, there have been more people with mental issues. I think this is a product that is needed by such people.
-When do you wear them?
I want to wear them not only when relaxing on my days off, but also when I go out and meet people. For times when I want to look cool without being too formal.
As I continue to use it, I'd like to enjoy the unique fading of the color that is unique to denim.
